TEAM

The Cactus team is composed of a close-knit group of people from Mexico and around the world, all with a shared passion for this amazing country. Between us we have decades of production experience, including everything from the first stages of research and logistics for a project, to fixing and producing on location, shooting, editing and post-producing. Over the years our team has traveled to every corner of the region, shooting everything from the drug war, hurricanes and underwater life to Mexican cuisine, the Monarch butterflies, Aztec recreations and the cultural richness of indigenous Mexico.

TONY VALDES began his career in the world of news when he helped the CNN producer’s team in Havana to organize Pope John Paul the II’s visit to Cuba. Among his many achievements in Cuba he also covered former US president Jimmy Carter’s historic visit to his country in 2002. With a military background in communications his expertise lies in connectivity and since his arrival at Cactus he has been in charge of all Fiber Optic Transmissions and can proudly say that not one of the thousands done in the last 4 years has failed.

BERNABE SALINAS started working at Cactus in 2005, where he soon gained the title of equipment manager due to his expertise in equipment handling. At Cactus he has continued developing his skills as a still photographer, cameraman, sound-man and editor.

During his time at Cactus he has worked on a huge array of projects ranging from news coverage for ABC, BBC and Al Jazeera English, to filming corporate videos, documentaries and government infomercials, as well as sports and social programs for clients from Mexico, the United States and Europe.
