Cactus is proud to be an Associate Producer in Lorenzo Hagerman’s latest documentary 0.56%. The documentary has done well in the festival circuit, opening at the 2010 edition of the IDFA, coming back to Mexico it was well received in this year’s Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara and Lorenzo has just returned from the Documenta Madrid 11 festival with the honorary jury’s award for best international feature documentary. Lorenzo has long been an invaluable contributor to the Cactus team as a freelance cinematographer/producer in great projects such as Xel’Ha and the recently Oscar® nominated Which Way Home. He went on to direct 0.56% which follows Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the presidential candidate and former Mayor of Mexico City who led the polls during 4 years. He was voted president by more than 14 million Mexicans on July 2nd 2006 yet lost the election by less than one percent to his adversary Felipe Calderon Hinojosa. Lorenzo, helped by the Cactus team followed Lopez Obrador for more than 20 months through this tumultuous time in Mexican political history.
